Pip Brains is an EA that has been around for a while now but only re-released recently and optimized for modern market conditions.
Strategy
It trades 3 different strategies to maximize trading opportunities and cope with different market conditions. Two of the strategies look like they use standard indicator based and price action analysis. The third looks like it’s based on a Martingale Hybrid System (but this is just a guess based on the settings available).
Versions
Pip Brains Version 1 was released last week and performed poorly on default settings. However, it was just announced today that Version 1 wasn’t working correctly for a lot of people and the creator updated it promptly with Version 1.1. So, the lab tests below are all based on Version 1.1 along with the live test.

Test 1: Independent Strategy Testing

Currently running Pip Brains on Alpari UK, testing started on 19th April 2010. Current results are as follows:

4th July 2010:
- I was sent Version 1.2 today which I have added to the account, replacing 1.1. Note, the 3rd strategy is completely turned off in version 1.2. Let’s hope for better results next week.

*Notes*
Pip Brains 1.1a was trading on both pairs until July 4th, at which point I changed the EurUsd to trade with Megadroid 1.21 and UsdChf is being traded with Pip Brains 1.2 now. Both bots are running on defaults. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up on my myfxbook page.
Sorry the other link wasn’t correct
Hi,
It’s not the best for your reputation if you are recommending PipBrains. PipBrains is a loser and Andy is not refunding the purchase price as promised! He is not even answering emails. PipBrains cannot manage current trading conditions!
Hi Trader,
Just in case I’m causing some confusion, I should clarify that I’m only testing Pip Brains… not recommending it
