Forex Brilliance, a new EA launched in 2010 has claims of 80% winning trades since 2004 and comes from two relatively unknown FX Traders Jerry Dodson & Bryan Stapler. Jerry and Bryan were kind enough to give me the back test results, from this multi-currency Forex Robot, before it was released to the market and I can confirm they look quite solid. See below for yourself:

Prior to the launch of Forex Brilliance Jerry and Bryan released one of their best trend identification indicators along with their Trend Explosion mechanical FX system. Both ”on the house” which will give you a taste of what you may expect from FX Brillance.
Because Forex Brilliance is so new to the market we have decided to skip our standard “Review Search” and have already ordered a copy so we can run it through out Lab.

Test 2: Forward Testing
Currently running Forex Brilliance on Alpari UK, testing started on 8th April 2010. Current results are as follows:
View our Live Trading Statement
Lab Result:
8th April 2010:
- Back tests results are comparable to the 2004-2009 results promoted on their site
- No significant losing streaks. Running all pairs at the same time should keep profits consistent
- If ranking currency pairs against 10 year back test results they would rank as follows: 1st USDJPY, 2nd GPBUSD, 3rd USDCHF and 4th EURUSD
8th May 2010:
- The Live test results you can see above have proven they align with the back tests
- You can see in the chart above how Brilliance not only trades often but loses often. Yet the equity curve is still positive.
- At this stage I’d expect Brilliance to keep hold of it’s current gains by winning and losing on a consistent basis until the next run of profitable trades.
- The Live test along with back tests have given me the confidence to put this on my live “real money” account
- I’ll update the “Pass or Fail” mark below next month
8th June 2010:
- I couldn’t have been more wrong. Although I enjoyed a week or so of very good results, as you can see in the chart above, Brilliance hit a highly volatile period which it couldn’t cope with and is still trying to find its feet. I turned it off on my live account after almost 2 straight losing weeks which left one of my 3 accounts in tatters. Better me than you
. - Regardless of the above I’d still like to see if Brilliance can replicate what it has proved it can do in the past. So I’ll continue to run it indefinitely before giving a mark below.
10th August 2010:
- Now that Brilliance has returned to the break even point I have decided to reduce the risk from 20% to 1 Lot. My theory is that any losing trades that come after a few winning trades won’t be as significant like when we saw Brilliance destroy profits in a matter of a week back in June.
21st August 2010:
- Brilliance is coming to the end of it’s life, nearly 80% in the red today with 3 negative trades open. Conclusion is that it needs the Money Management option selected if you choose to leave it running unattended. So, today I have changed it back to 20% risk… Let’s see if it can get out of this hole.

I have been trading Brilliance live for about 10 days now, so far it has been impressive. If it maintains its current success I will have doubled my initial equity in a month! I feel that the money management function is the key quick jumps in equity.
I will write more in a couple of weeks to let you know of my progress
I have to agree with Mitchell. Although, I’ve been trading it a bit longer. Yes, you do make consistent losses but they are always consistent and the winning trades make them back really quickly, and often exceed them taking you to another equity level.
I’ll let you know how things continue also.
Hi Cam,
May I know your Account: 1629029 a live or demo?
What settings on all your 4 pair?
My run in default settings mostly in SL
Hi Tony,
All my “Live Tests” are run on demo accounts.
The 4 pairs are all running the same settings which were the default setting on the first version they released (prior to their ECN fix). My settings are:
StopLoss=50
TakeProfit=30
Slippage=3
MaxSpread=4.00000000
Enable_MM=1
Risk_Percent=20.00000000
Hope this helps!
Well I have kept a close eye on Brilliance and see it has now made up its losses.
Hi everyone,
I’ve been demo trading using this EA for about 2 months, it was really impressive and profitable until Aug. 26th, it went negative with losses for full 7 days! I dont know why! Is it a temporary draw down period, or is it expired or is it the broker intervention?
Please I need your opinions.
Thanks.
Hi Tester,
Yeah, it did the same back in May 2010… I think there are just periods where it can’t cope with a particular type of market… but I can’t work out what market it is from look at the charts… i don’t think it’s Broker related because I was running it on several accounts and all were affected.
Hi Cam Forex,
Thanks for your reply, so how can know if the EA has expired?
Regards,
Usually it stops trading or the writing on the chart alerts you. I don’t think Brilliance will ever expire.
I’ll keep running it to see how it will deal with the market also I’ll keep the money management on instead of going with fixed lots.
Please lets keep the results updated !
Sure. It’ll update every 10 minutes during market hours.
BTW, which broker do you recommend or find reliable for results? I’m planning to invest with FXCM , as I know its a good broker.
I hang my hat on Alpari UK most of the time. Check out http://www.100forexbrokers.com/mt4-ecn-brokers for a good list of Non DD brokers, if Alpari UK doesn’t work for you.
today it closed 2 profitable trades, but in other accounts its open double trade ! in other words it duplicate the trades and I don’t know why?!
