The essentials

EURUSD H1 timeframe is recommended
Can be used on any currency pair and timeframe
Trades a, mainly price action, break out strategy
Uses a complex position sizing exit strategy to maximize profit

Forex Bullet Proof

The “much hyped” Forex Bullet Proof, from the creators of the ever popular FAPTurbo, caught my attention this week. So much so that I had to grab a copy myself and put it through its paces… more from a curiosity point of view as opposed to convincing proof. So here’s what I discovered:

Forex Bullet Proof Essentials

Trades EURUSD/USDJPY M1 Chart
Minimal Account Balance to trade USDJPY is $4000
Minimal Account Balance to trade EURUSD is $450
Adapt Lots setting – used to increase risk as your account grows
Looks like it uses some Martingale to limit losses (but not often)

I dove in expecting nothing and sent it to the lab on the EURUSD pair. Here’s what I found…

Fish Forex Robot

The Fish Forex Robot, from Rita Lasker and her team at Green Forex Group, has been around for a while. After a few requests to put it up on the site my curiosity got the better of me.

Fish Forex Robot Essentials:

Trades EURUSD H1 Chart
Trades Monday -Thursday
Uses Fundamental events, that happen every day, to pick entry/exit points
Includes a nice Hedging or Martingale strategy (I can’t tell which at this stage) to limit losses
Picks winners about 80% of the time

I’ve already run a couple of back tests and all in all it looks quite robust… As I write this the 10 year test is still churning away. It will be interesting to see what it turns up. Let’s have a look in the lab:

2000 – 2009 Strategy Test results show growth from $10,000 to $5,504,723 at 99.22% accuracy.

Detailed results not available due to slowness of back test (testing was stopped after 5 days)

Update 27th August 2010:

Restarted testing, in fairness to this EA, due to inputting incorrect risk settings. Note, the first trade it placed was a 60 pip loss using 2 Lots, which is too high risk for this account size. I have adjusted the settings to be more conservative and inserted them correctly this time.

Forex Shockwave

The Forex Shockwave EA from Justin Perez hit the market 18th August 2010, promising:

More trades than typical EAs, averaging at least 1 per day
Adaptable to any currency pair
Typically trades EURUSD M15 chart
Optimization to the market
Flexibility, so it can trade smooth and volatile conditions

The back and live test results are limited on the site, but the video does provide a more in depth view of the tests.

Forex Shocker 2.0

Forex Shocker 2.0, a much improved version of the original, is a no nonsense hybrid scalping EA that, with a straightforward sales page, provides little in the way of marketing hype and a lot in the way of solid proof.

I was especially impressed by the 10 year back tests they provided for each of the 6 currency pairs the FX Shocker robot trades.

The reviews on the net are few, vague and indifferent, here’s a positive one I found on donnaforex:

Forex Outbreak

It looks like another scalper but has some good order management built in that locks in profits and can produce some nice trades. The win rate is also impressive, with their back test (only shown to people who purchase the product) showing 100% accuracy. There are two versions of the EA available:

Standard – Recommended on EURUSD M30
Advanced – Recommended on EURUSD M5

The sales page showed a promising video, so I thought I’d take a punt on this one and give it a whirl. The first thing I noticed was that the back tests didn’t show a lot of trades. Only 300 odd over 10 years. That said there were some trade that stayed open for months before hitting the 225 Stop Loss… and my back test data was playing up so I’ll have another look at getting better data another day.

Forex Turbo Drive

Forex Zone are the creators of, not only, Forex Turbo Drive (released Mid 2010) but also it’s older brother Forex Over Drive (who, I might add, is doing a fantastic job in the markets at the moment – 323% return in 99 days).

I managed to get a trial copy of the Turbo Drive EA which I started trading on a Demo account about a week ago. Unfortunately, it placed a lot of losing trades and was eating away my demo account at a moderate pace. Just when I was losing hope the developers sent an updated version of Turbo Drive saying “This version is MUCH improved since the last copy we developed.” so I reset my demo account and have put it in the Forex Lab for testing.
