Well, I’d heard a few good things about Straddle Trader Pro. Some of my subscribers have it in there top 2 Forex Robots and use it all the time.
So thought I’d get myself a copy and put it to the test in the Forex Lab.
What I can tell you is that it’s a news trading EA that places it’s orders before the news hits to avoid requotes during fast price moves, then profits from the news announcement.
It also comes as a manual system, as far as I can tell.
Now, let’s see how it performs in the Forex Lab:

Currently running Straddle Trader Pro on Alpari UK Demo, testing started on 29th October 2011. Current results are as follows:

I’ve had this EA since it’s launch in july. It paid for itself in the first month plus profit. Most of the trades happen in the first week of the month and you do have to on when the trades happen but this is definately a profitable EA. It is also very broker dependent so you will need to do your research. There is a blog, forum and skype chat available for your research. Cam you wont regret getting your hands on this. If you need any help/advice feel free to email me.
hello…would you mind sending me advice regarding the setup and broker for this EA?. I would be grateful if you could contact me at gugah.28@gmail.com. Thanks
hello, I would buy trader pro straddler pro v2.2 but I would like some advice from your, I have the view you have already is profitable? It is a difficult thing to install with all the parameter I ask because I’m new to the Traiding. thank you for helping m
am very interested in this one jaggermikestar!have been following it now for a while but did not purchase as i believe that i would have to be present at the time of the trade which is around lunchtime in UK,does this sound right to you?if broker dependant again then do you know of any in uk that would be suitable? is it a case of finding one with low latency, low spreads etc ,like for mdp? is it difficult to master the techniques and setup?,cheers ,marka
the broker I would reccomend for the UK would be alpari which is what STP support recommend. I’ve had fills with pepperstone razor as well, and yes you do need a broker with good execution speeds and one that doesnt have freeze-outs on news releases. It is a skill you will need to learn but help is not far away. Barrys blog and the skype room are a good source of info.
Sorry forgot to mention, you do need to on your computer when the trades happen. Im lucky in that where I am most the trades happen at either 1130am 730 pm or 1130pm and most of them happen in the first week of the month. August had a good month, sept wasnt so great and oct was good, if you have the capital in your account you can make a lot of money in that first week but be warned if you make a mistake in setting the ea up it can also cost you.
Hi all, looking at the staddle EA it looks fool proof and i cant see a downside to it, except the cost and that it isnt going to trade very often. had anyone found any faults in it yet?
where are you based jaggermikestar?
Guys, I think there may be a bug with the current live test. It should have traded more than this. I’ll see if I can fix it in time for the next set of new releases.
East coast australia
, if you and anyone else wants my advice (if your thinking about getting it) I would wait until next year. Theres only one more news week left this year and judging by the way things have gone over the last 3 months I wouldn’t be expecting and major moves, there has been some good movement in some of the trades but a lot of the time quick retracement – which is not for the faint hearted. the first 6-8 months of the year are the best for trading this ea.
thanks jaggermikester, will wait till next year, marka.ps ,have lived on east coast for a few years myself a while ago,too hot for me!
Hi Cam how long are you going to give this EA?
I need to spend some more time trying to work out why it is not working. Might be a while.
