17th April 2011:
- Graduate status revoked. Due to mediocre performance in my live account I’ve can’t leave FAPTurbo in graduate status. As you will see on the right of this page there is now a “My Live Trials” status which FAPTurbo fits into. This is where I trial the EA on my live “real money” account. From here it can make graduate status again.
FAP Turbo was once the EA to beat and had traders around the world jumping on board this Forex trading phenomenon. Now… the jury is out!
FAP Turbo is made up of two trading strategies:
- A Scalping strategy that runs on up to four pairs
- A Position strategy that runs on the EURUSD
Both strategies have been adapted from the popular Forex Autopilot EA’s and are updated frequently to accommodate modern trading conditions. The tests below have been carried out using version 50 of the software.
Different from most other EAs produced these days, FAP Turbo lets you customize a number of its settings to optimize it for your level of risk or to boost it’s performance. This has seen many a trader fall foul of FAP Turbo in the past so my tests below will only run on the default settings.

Test 1: Independent Strategy Testing
2000-2010 EURGBP Scalper Strategy Test results show growth from $10,000 to $5,504,723 at 99.22% accuracy.

I’m currently running FAP Turbo on Alpari UK. Testing started on 17th April 2010. Note, the test below is running default settings on EURGBP, EURCHF, GBPCHF and USDCAD. Current results are as follows:

Lab Result:
14th July 2010:
- Have just realized that FAPTurbo hasn’t traded since 30th June 2010. I’m guessing something has been programmed in to prevent it from trading after this date. I’ll investigate and see if I can get it working again. Has anyone else noticed this? Note, it’s running on demo only.
17th July 2010:
- Found out that my software had expired. I updated it today so note that the above test has missed the results for the first half of July.
26th September 2010:
- Updated version from 50 to 51.
18th December 2010:
- Updated version from 51 to 52. New currency pair added: EURUSD.
12th February 2011:
- FapTurbo has graduated. However, not all pairs have performed well during the testing phase. Its graduate status relies on EURCHF, EURUSD and GBPCHF pairs being traded. I’ll keep the test going on all pairs to assess if this theory remains true in the future.

29th May 2011:
- Have given up on FAPT once again. General feeling is that there are better EAs out there that can work harder and smarter. Will continue to run the test for those who find FAPT a useful fit for themselves.
If you have used FAP Turbo before then please post your review below, making sure you give it an overall star rating. Thanks!

CAM,I want to invest $10000 live account in fx robots. I have considered MD and FAPTURBO. Can I achieve a 30% monthly returns on my investment? Advice please.
Hi Greg,
Yes you can easily, but you will lose some trades so you must manage your risk accordingly. I always start trading 0.01 lots and then see how an EA performs live before increasing risk. There are so many factors at play that you always want to be sure before taking the plunge and risking more.
Hope this helps.
If you are looking for broker recommendations and settings I’m sure you can find them in the MD thread. If I reveal my broker choice that I use for mdp I will receive a ton of hate mail from people using the same combinations sorry.
hi Cam,
i need some advice from you base on your experience using these two robots:

New version of Fap Turbo has not performed very well. I’ve used Fap Turbo for several years now but I’ve actually stopped using it and moved over to the Fap Turbo Ichimoku instead. It does not trade as often as Fap Turbo but has done a great job at being very consistent. If anyone wants more consistency with safer trading style, I highly recommend using the Fap Turbo Ichimoku EA instead. Right now I use it on EUR/CHF, USD/CHF, EUR/GBP and GBP/USD. Hope this helps HAI.
sounds interesting alex, what sort of monthly returns would you say you get using ichimoku and what risk levels ,drawdowns do you experience?cheers, marka
Hi marka, the returns I received for the month of March, for example, was roughly 7% of my account with minimal drawdowns. I think the main goal of FT Ichimoku, as per the creator, is to have tighter stop losses than those of the regular FT EA. Its concept is to follow the Ichimoku cloud trading strategy made famous by Goichi Hosoda in the 1930s. If you have Fap Turbo, you are entitled to get the free Ichimoku EA from the Fap Turbo Members area. Currently it is on version 1.2. I recommend trying it out with low risk or on a demo account and see if it is something you would be interested in. The thing I noticed with the regular Fap Turbo is that you plug along with some steady weekly gains and then several trades stop out in a row due to market conditions and wipe out those weekly gains you just received. I am in no way slandering Fap Turbo but I think that the new version that came out several weeks ago does not have all the bells and whistles worked out for the current market conditions. If you do try FT Ichimoku, you will notice that it will not trade as often as its big brother but you will see consistency. Also please note the Lot Risk Reductor figure is slightly different than that of the regular FT. A Lot Risk Reductor for Ichimoku is not as high as its big brother. The settings are something that you can play around with until you feel comfortable. I recommend turning the DOWNLOAD BEST SETTINGS to False and turning AGGRESSIVE to True. Also, FT Ichimoku settings are pretty easy to understand and tweek. All in all, it is a nice system. It will not allow you to quit your day job, per say, but it has shown to be very consistent in the last several months of use. Best Wishes -Alex G
Can Ichimoku make 10% return on trading account? I need to know please, Cam
Hi Greg,
I think it really depends on the market conditions but yes, I can see FT Ichimoku perform at 10% per month. Please note that FT Ichimoku is the more conservative brother to regular Fap Turbo. If you want more trades per day but with your occasional loss or losses, I would stay with Fap Turbo. If you want to try an EA that has good consistency, Ichimoku is good. It really depends on what you are looking for at this time. Remember, EA’s have come and gone but Fap Turbo is still around after all these years and the creatures have done it again with FT Ichimoku. Happy Trading

Hi Traders, just FYI…. For anyone who thinks of using the Fap Turbo Long Term trend strategy, this is the time to use it. Since April 27th, I have been seeing a big sell pattern in the EUR/USD and the Fap Turbo Long Term trend has been trading this way very well. Due to the Euro crisis and uncertainty, selling the EUR/USD in a long-term-trend-case is not a bad idea. For anyone who has never tried the Long Term trend strategy who are Fap Turbo clients, due to the risk, I suggest using a low risk lot size and go for it. I have caught over 400 pips since the end of April and I do not see the EUR/USD yielding this trend pattern. Just a thought. Happy trading and good luck
